Prendiville Reserve Chardonnay

import - Australia   Margaret River Region, Western Australia   dry, white wine   0.75 L; alc

12% vol   The highest quality, flagship wine of the Sandalford vineyard was made up of 100% Chardonnay grapes from 50-year-old vines from hand-selected grapes from a small vineyard in Margaret River. The entire wine making process proceeded exclusively using traditional wine-making techniques. It matured for 9 months in 42% of new Louis Latour French oak barrels and 58% in three-year Louis Latour barrels. There are only 3240 numbered bottles of this wine from the strict reserve of Sandalford winery. It has a straw color with a shade of green olive, a strong aroma of grapefruit, white peach and citrus, vanilla and roasted cashews in the bouquet. In the mouth it is clean, soft, creamy, delicate with a good finish, dominating the same notes as in the bouquet. Perfect with salmon and elegant poultry dishes, also exquisite salads. Awards: This wine received 96 points at the James Halliday Australian Wine Companion, so it is, according to one of the most famous critics, almost perfect.
